This summer has been full of exciting events, festivals, and other goings on in Toronto! Now, we have the upcoming Pan-Am Games in Toronto that kick off on July 10th and run until the 26th. The XVII Pan American Games, is a major international multi-sport event with approximately 6,135 athletes from 41 nations that will participate in 36 sports. The first event, water polo, will be held today three days before the opening of the event.

Many records have been broken with this event thus far with among them 45% of competitors is expected to be women which is the most ever for any multi-sport event. The 2015 Pan American Games, will be the first completely ecologically friendly games, being entirely carbon neutral. And if that wasn’t enough, it will be the largest multi-sport event ever to be held in Canada in terms of the athletes that will be competing. The games will be double the athletes of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

Throughout this event be sure to grab a souvenir from the David Crighton Art Souvenir collection or our general collections, such as an art print or poster to commemorate your visit to any of the venues or locations of and around the 2015 Pan American Games.

Along with the games, we’ll be posting more of the other events happening in the Toronto area for people to enjoy like Summerlicious 2015.  This event has the best restaurants of Toronto pull out all the stops and planning delicious prix-fixe menus for you to enjoy. This event runs alongside the 2015 Pan American Games from July 3-26, so be sure grab some great food after a day of sporting events and keep checking in to see what else is happening in Toronto during the games!
