The "Artist at Work"

US fans: #Downton Abbey Rediscovered airs on PBS on 30th November. Series 5 begins on 4th January 2015.

UK Fans have been enjoying the show since the end of September.

Here's a Downton Abbey Episode Guide

The Facts:

Downton Abbey is an immensely popular costume drama that starts prior to  the first World War.  The series was created by Sir Julian Fellows ("The Kings Speech") and made its British debut on September 26, 2010 on ITV, the same network that is responsible for Coronation Street. Downton Abbey made its U.S. debut on PBS and its Canadian Debut on Vision TV January 9th, 2011.

By the third series, it had become one of the most widely watched television drama shows in the world. The show has won 11 Emmy’s, 2 Golden Globes, a National Television Award, and the Screen Actors Guild to name a few. Downton Abbey has also been recognized by Guinness World Records as the most critically acclaimed English-language television series of 2011.

Highclere Castle is the real name of the estate where the show is filmed. The castle, which is located in  Yorkshire, England, is believed to have been built  in the 8th century.  It is the country seat of the Earl of Carnarvon.  The castle is open to the public in the summer months, and since the filming of the series, has seen increasing popularity and tourist visits.

Lady Mary Crawley-

A true fan favourite, the character of Lady Mary Crawleywas born in1891. She is the eldest daughter of Robert and Cora Crawley. She is the widow of Matthew Crawley and mother to the current heir George. Her demeanour is often said to be cold, but through the seasons it is her heart warming gestures towards the people she holds most dear, that make her one of the most unforgettable characters.

Some of our favourite qoutes

“I don’t believe a woman can be forced to give away all her money to a distant cousin of her husband’s. Not in the 20th century. It’s too ludicrous for words.”

“Haven’t you heard? I don’t have a heart. Everyone knows that.”

“Edith, I know we haven’t always got along and I doubt things change much in the future, but today I wish you all the luck in the world.”

We shot a video too. I'm singing "That's Alright Momma" by Elvis. He had a couple of people come in the next day to ask "Was that Rod Stewart in your store yesterday"  I did do a bit of "Maggie May" among others just for a blast !!!!!

Facebook Fan shares Her Story About her "Osgoode Hall Print

"I have loved your art for years & years. First time I saw it was perhaps a sportsman show or something @ the CNE.   Originally from Rexdale now from lovely Gananoque in the 1000 islands. I thought you might like to know that I have a numbered print in my hallway which my brother bought me at a silent auction at the Sally Ann in Penetanguishene. It is of Osgoode Hall. He didn't tell me until he gave it to me, that at that particular gate, it was the last time he saw his birth mother & a sister who had been born while our dad was in the hospital for a number of years in the 40s. He and our dad went one way, and his mom & sister went the other! He was then raised by our aunt until dad got out of the hospital. (I was born 12 years later. Same dad, different mom)So now you know, one of your works has a special meaning to our family. I will enjoy following you on FB."
